Therapy that fits to the uniqueness of you

I see you and everyone that comes to work with me as an individual, with unique experiences, strengths and challenges.

Rather than making assumptions based on a diagnosis, life experience or presenting problem, I take time to understand the person behind the story you are bringing.

My approach is one of non-judgement and curiosity, and tailored to you, because there is no single way to experience anxiety, trauma, grief or heartbreak, and no single way to heal.

How Therapy might help and what might be different

  • You might notice you can sit with difficult feelings instead of being swept up in them.
  • Relationships may start to feel less fraught, old patterns easier to spot and shift, and you may find yourself responding rather than reacting.
  • Many people tell me there's a real lightness that comes simply from being heard and sharing what they've been carrying alone.
  • Over time, you may also find yourself becoming more accepting, of your own flaws and messiness, and of other people's too, with less need for things, or people, to be perfect.
  • Many describe feeling more like themselves again, clearer, calmer, and more at ease with their own story.

Making peace with ourselves

Therapy can be uncomfortable, and sometimes that's exactly where the growth is. In adult life, we may have played a role in our suffering and that can be painful to face. Therapy can offer valuable and profound insights into our strengths and our flaws, our mistakes and our regrets, but this may feel painfully exposing. We may wish to hide from this truth.

That kind of honesty can sting before it soothes. But it's also what hands us back our own agency. If we can see ourselves and the choices we have made (with deep compassion, forgiveness and acceptance), we can then change ourselves or our life, however we wish to.

Counselling for Couples

I also offer relationship therapy for partners who feel stuck in patterns of conflict, disconnection or misunderstanding and want to find a different way of relating to one another.

I take a trauma-informed, attachment-based approach, with additional training in Imago Relationship Therapy. I’m interested in what sits beneath the arguments and recurring patterns, including the fears, needs and vulnerabilities that can make it difficult to feel heard, safe or connected.

You might seek support with communication difficulties, recurring arguments, emotional distance, intimacy, trust, parenting, separation, or navigating significant changes in your relationship. Sometimes experiences from earlier relationships or childhood can also influence how we respond to one another.

My aim is to create a space where both people can be understood, while gently exploring the patterns between you and finding new ways of communicating, understanding and connecting.
