Jane Belinda Therapy
Trauma & PTSD
Some experiences stay with us long after they have happened.
You may find yourself struggling with memories, emotions, relationships, your sense of safety or the way you see yourself.
I offer a safe, compassionate and carefully paced space to explore experiences that may still be affecting you.
I have a special interest and extensive experience in working with all forms of child and adult trauma.
My Trauma Approach
Relational, attachment and compassion-focused - To understand your wounds and adaptations that helped you survive difficult experiences but are now causing suffering and limiting your life
Body & nervous-system informed work - Because trauma isn’t experienced only through thoughts. It can also show up in the body, emotions and automatic responses.
EMDR - For experiences and memories that continue to trigger distress in the present. If EMDR is appropriate, preparation and safety are an important part of the process before trauma processing begins.
Fee: 50 minute trauma informed therapy session - £80
Overwhelm & Burnout
You may feel exhausted but unable to stop. You might be constantly thinking about what needs doing, struggling to switch off or feeling as though you have very little left to give.
Therapy can provide somewhere to pause and understand how you have arrived at this point, while exploring what needs to change.
Grief & Loss
Grief doesn’t follow a predictable path.
Whether you have lost someone, a relationship, a role, a sense of identity or something important to you, I offer a space where you don’t have to rush the process or make your feelings easier for other people.
Anxiety
Anxiety can affect far more than how you feel in the moment. It can influence your relationships, confidence, sleep, work and the way you see yourself.
Therapy can help you understand what your anxiety may be trying to tell you, explore what sits underneath it and develop a different relationship with anxious thoughts and feelings.
Life Transitions
Sometimes nothing is necessarily ‘wrong’, but life no longer feels quite right.
Changes in relationships, work, family, identity or circumstances can leave us questioning what we want and who we are.
Therapy can give you the space to stop, reflect and work out what comes next.

What is EMDR
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing.
It is a structured, trauma-focused therapy that helps you process distressing experiences and the thoughts, emotions and physical sensations connected to them.
EMDR is particularly well known for working with trauma and distressing experiences. It may be helpful when you are struggling with:
- traumatic or distressing memories
- childhood or developmental trauma
- relational trauma
- anxiety connected to past experiences
- disturbing images or sensations
- persistent feelings of shame, guilt or fear
- negative beliefs about yourself
- experiences that continue to trigger strong reactions in the present
EMDR isn’t right for everyone or for every difficulty, so we’ll explore whether it is appropriate for you. You don’t need to know exactly what type of therapy you need before getting in touch.
