"Anything that's human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable." Fred Rogers

Step One: A Free 20-Minute Consultation

I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation so we can briefly talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping to gain, and whether I feel I’m the right therapist for your needs. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions and get a sense of how I work, with no obligation to continue.

Step Two: Your First Session

Our first full session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We’ll explore what’s brought you to therapy, begin to understand your experiences, and discuss what you’d like life to look like as therapy progresses.

Step Three: Ongoing Therapy

If we decide to continue working together, sessions usually take place weekly at first. Therapy is a collaborative process rather than something that is done to you. I’ll bring my professional knowledge, experience and curiosity, while you bring your unique experiences, strengths and willingness to explore.

Step Four: Regular Reviews

Around every six weeks, we’ll pause to review how therapy is progressing. We’ll reflect on what’s changed, what’s still feeling difficult, whether your goals have evolved, and what you need from therapy moving forward.

Whether you choose to meet online or in person, the therapeutic relationship remains at the heart of the work. Research consistently shows that online therapy can be just as effective as face-to-face counselling for many concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship difficulties. What matters most is that you feel comfortable, safe and able to connect.

Online therapy offers flexibility and convenience. You can access therapy from the comfort of your own home, avoid travel time, and fit sessions more easily around work, family and other commitments. Many people also find it easier to open up when they are in a familiar environment.

In-person therapy provides a dedicated, private space away from the distractions of everyday life. Some clients value being physically present in the therapy room and appreciate having a place that is solely for their therapeutic work.

Walk & Talk Therapy. Therapy outdoors research increasingly demonstrates that walking and spending time in natural environments can reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress and can support psychological wellbeing.

Whichever option you choose, you’ll receive the same thoughtful, collaborative and change-focused approach.

"Jane is easy to talk to and was very understanding of my situation.  She was approachable, offered empathy but more importantly made me believe in myself again.  Cannot recommend Jane highly enough"  K.M
